This is a strategic site of regional importance in terms of delivering much needed residential and employment uses. The site has now been adopted into the Adur and Worthing Local Plan and is currently in the final stages of consulataton prior to sign off by the Planning Inspectorate. The current proposals seek to provide up to 600 houses along with business, leisure and local scale retail uses totaling up to 500,000sqft as well as a country park. The development proposals are also planned to deliver major highways infrastructure improvement – including a new roundabout on the A27 that will mitigate existing capacity and safety issues as well as provide new dedicated access points to both the New Monks Farm development and Shoreham Airport. The transport solution will be delivered jointly by NMF and Shoreham Airport with the support of the Highways Agency, WSCC and potentially the Homes and Communities Agency.
